This excellent online course will teach you the fundamentals of process serving of legal documents. After completion you will be able to serve documents with confidence. This online process serving course is aimed at beginners either to process serving or someone working in the Private Investigator sector who wants to learn more about process serving. No prior learning is required. This is a level 3 course so good understanding of English is required.

 

The course includes the following modules and will include an assessment at the end to prove learning.

Module 1 – What is Process Serving and why do we Process Serve – Learn why process serving is necessary.

Module 2 – The process of serving including personal service, letterbox service and service on a company – Learn exactly how to serve legal documents on a person and a company.  Also learn what letterbox service is and what the letter of appointment is. What good and bad service is. What you should charge for work. What Deemed date of service means.

Module 3 – The different types of documents you will serve – This is a comprehensive guide to the most common types of documents and details how the document has come to be issued, timescale for service, what needs to be pointed out at the time of service, proof of service required and method of service. Explanation of what conduct money is and how to deal with that situation.

Module 4 – Proof of service: Certificates of Service, Affidavits (including the EX550) and Exhibits – Learn how to complete and set out these important documents. Learn what exhibits are and how they are used in process serving. Explanation of a Notary Public and how to deal with those situations.

Module 5 – The Civil Procedure Rules process servers must follow – Learn more about the Ministry of Justice and the CPR rules that process servers must follow.

Module 6 – Your safety! Learn how to complete process serves safely. What to look out for and how to reduce the risk of  being injured.
